A bamboo fish trap, locally called Tum, is a woven bamboo device shaped like a bottle or cylinder. The lower part is wider to hold fish, while the upper part has a narrow neck with a lid. Inside are inward-pointing bamboo spikes that allow fish to enter but make it difficult to escape. It is commonly placed in streams, ponds, or rice fields with bait to catch fish.
