อนุสาวรีย์ ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วิภาต บุญศรี วังซ้าย หรือที่ชาวแม่โจ้เรียกด้วยความเคารพว่า “คุณพระ” สร้างขึ้นเพื่อรำลึกถึงบุคคลสำคัญผู้เป็นศิษย์เก่าแม่โจ้ รุ่นที่ 1 และอธิการบดีคนแรกของ สถาบันเทคโนโลยีการเกษตรแม่โจ้ อนุสาวรีย์นี้เป็นสัญลักษณ์แห่งความภาคภูมิใจและจิตวิญญาณของลูกแม่โจ้
คำสอนของท่านที่ว่า “งานหนักไม่เคยฆ่าคน” ได้กลายเป็นปรัชญาสำคัญที่สะท้อนถึงความอดทน ความมานะ และความขยันของนักเกษตร ทุกวันที่ 30 ตุลาคม ของทุกปี มหาวิทยาลัยแม่โจ้จะจัดงาน วันวิภาต บุญศรี วังซ้าย เพื่อให้ศิษย์เก่าและนักศึกษาร่วมกันสักการะและระลึกถึงคุณงามความดีของท่าน

The Monument of Professor Dr. Wipat Boonsri Wangsai, respectfully known among Maejo members as “Khun Phra,” was built to honor one of Maejo’s most influential figures. He was a Class 1 alumnus and served as the first president of the Maejo Institute of Agricultural Technology. The monument represents the pride and spirit of the Maejo community.
His well-known motto, “Hard work never killed anyone,” has become an important philosophy reflecting perseverance and dedication in agricultural life. Every October 30, Maejo University holds Wipat Boonsri Wangsai Day, when alumni and students gather to pay respect and remember his lasting contributions to agricultural education in Thailand.
