ซุ่ม หรือ สุ่ม เป็นเครื่องมือจับปลาที่สานจากไม้ไผ่ มีลักษณะคล้ายกรวยคว่ำหรือระฆังคว่ำ ด้านบนมีช่องสำหรับสอดมือจับปลา ส่วนด้านล่างเปิดกว้างเพื่อครอบลงบนพื้นน้ำ วิธีใช้งานเรียกว่า “สุ่มปลา” โดยผู้ใช้จะครอบซุ่มลงบนปลาที่อยู่ในน้ำตื้น แล้วสอดมือลงไปจับปลาออกมาเพื่อนำไปเก็บไว้ในข้อง

A fish trap, locally called Sum or Sum Pla, is a traditional bamboo fishing tool shaped like an upside-down cone or bell. The top has a small opening for reaching inside, while the bottom is wide for covering fish in shallow water. To use it, the fisher quickly places the trap over a fish and then reaches through the top opening to catch it and place it in a fish basket.
