A steelyard balance scale, also known as a hanging scale or Chinese balance, is a traditional tool used for weighing goods. It consists of a long beam with a movable counterweight. The user slides the weight along the beam until it balances with the object being weighed, then reads the measurement from the marked scale on the beam.
